[Bradley2012] Effectiveness matters to me, but effective for whom?

Are you tired of politics as usual? With all the big-money status-quo establishmentarian politicians telling you why their special interests are better than the other guy's special interests? I know I am.

A recent poll from the NC Center for Public Policy Research asked 120 House Members and 407 registered lobbyists who were the most effective members in the NC State House. It should be no surprise that in a poll dominated by registered lobbyists that I would take the spot for "least effective" because I was the #1 guy for not catering to special interests.

The results of this poll of lobbyists has resulted in no less than two stories from the News and Observer:

My effectiveness was concentrated on delivering not what the lobbyists want, but what the people actually need: Job growth, regulatory reform, and a strong push to restore the Constitutional order.

The text of my bill, House Bill 587 NC Job Growth through Regulatory Reform, became law in SB781 overriding the Governor's veto. I was instrumental in blocking RealID compliance. I stopped a controversial forced annexation in Roanoke Rapids. And, I got Ballot Access Reform passed out of the House and moving in the Senate. Here is a listing of some of my other accomplishments in 2011:

Other Freshmen in the House were allowed to pass non substantive bills like making NASCAR the official State Sport, making gold the official State Mineral, and designating which town holds the official oyster festival for North Carolina. None have been as effective in passing substantive policy issues into law as I have been.

So yes, effectiveness is very important. The question is, effectiveness at what, and effective for whom? If we are talking about effectiveness at recognizing what town's festival is official or not, and how much control the lobbyists have over the House Members, then the NC Center for Public Policy Research is probably a good place to start.

If, however, we are looking for effectiveness in restoring job growth to North Carolina without becoming beholden to the lobbyists to do so, then a poll dominated by registered lobbyists is probably not the best place to look.

Instead of looking to ratings agencies up to their eyeballs in special interests, how about we open the Constitution and read it? When that day finally comes that it is the civic duty of every American citizen to open up the State and Federal Constitutions and read them prior to casting an electoral vote, then we will save America for generations to come.

Please join me in upholding and defending the Constitution!

For liberty!

Glen Bradley is the most effective legislator in standing up for the people of North Carolina, and the least effective at following instructions from lobbyists and giving the special interests what they want. Help us to further strike fear into the hearts of the lobbyists and the special interests that are corrupting our system of government by electing Glen Bradley into the North Carolina State Senate in 2012.

Your generous contribution of $1000, $500, $250, $100, $50, $25 or $10 will help send a message to the status quo establishment that We The People are back, and we aren't going to put up with government dominated by the special interests any more!
