About Me
My name is Glen Bradley, and I have lived in the same house in Youngsville, NC for 20 years. I am self employed as a computer, network, and point of sale field service technician, and until I recently devoted my life to shaking up the establishment political order I was doing pretty good for myself.
Directly out of High School, I joined the US Marine Corps because I love my country, and more than anything wanted to put my life on the line to defend her. Even so, I have for as long as I can remember, been completely convinced that neither major party has a history nor a deserved reputation for representing the citizens of this great land.
My proudest moments include when I first took the oath to uphold and defend the Constitution against all enemies, and again when I took the same oath on being promoted to a noncommissioned officer. I have been a Constitutionalist from my very earliest memory.
It is with great pride that I assert to you that I am an oathkeeper.
I am a Christian, and a passionate believer. I attended the Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary from 1999 to 2002 in order to learn Greek and Hebrew so that I could read the scriptures in their original languages, and until our pastor and elders returned to the lands from which they came I led worship and taught Sunday School at my local church.
It was at a young 12 years old, in 1985 that I came to the startling realization that our nation did not honor nor obey the Constitution, and that this fact was very unlikely to change in my lifetime. I settled myself into political apathy thinking I would live out my life without even trying to make a difference in what I considered to be a political cesspool both in Raleigh and in Washington DC.
But all that changed in 2007. As a lifelong registered unaffiliated and faithful voter, I encountered an old-school Constitutionalist along the lines of Robert A Taft and Barry Goldwater. He actually stood on principle instead of Party, and had 30 years worth of a voting record to prove it. That man was Congressman Ron Paul.
I threw myself into his campaign without reservation. I participated at the genesis of the Modern Tea Party movement in December of 2007, and went on to canvass three states as a volunteer, helping to spread the message of Constitutionalism.
For the first time in my life I registered Republican in 2007 and attended the convention cycle in 2008. I continued to canvass and attend Tea Parties throughout 2008, and became a regular at the Tea Parties and Town Hall meetings of 2009.
I learned that the message of restoring the Constitutional Order resonated with people of every stripe, strata, and political philosophy. The people, by and large, (regardless of party) want a government that honors and obeys the Constitution...it is only our elected officials (of both parties) who claim different.
In 2008 and 2009, I became deeply involved in my local Republican Party with an open agenda to agitate for change -- being the Constitutionalist reform both of the party platform and resolutions, and of government itself through the agency of those whom we elect.
In 2009 I was unanimously elected 1st Vice Chairman of the Franklin County Republican Party, and during the 2009 convention cycle I rallied the entire State Party organization behind a set of 10th Amendment and Firearms Freedom resolutions entitles "The Carolina Resolves"
I pushed onwards from that victory to seek the public and our representatives to support a North Carolina Firearms Freedom Act, which as of December 2009 now has a sponsor in the NC State House for the 2010 long session in Representative David Lewis.
I originally had no intention on running for State House in 2010, as I had just been elected to the 1st Vice Chairmanship of my County's Republican Party and wanted to serve out my term before even thinking about moving on to a public office, but a large group of my friends got together to convince me of the critical nature of redistricting, which will take place in 2011. In the end, I had to agree that the character of redistricting in NC will dramatically effect politics in our state for the next decade, and I officially announced that I would be seeking the seat currently held by Lucy T. Allen, in NC State House District 49.
I am asking you, the Democratic, Republican, and Unaffiliated voters of Franklin, Nash, and Halifax counties in North Carolina to stand up with me in demanding that our elected officials not only represent us properly, but also honor and obey the State and US Constitutions as required by law and the integrity of our moral compass.
Thank you!
